Uniforms & Equipment
Official Uniforms
The official Wu-Hsin Te uniform consists of a white jacket (with colored trim for advanced ranks), black pants (with closed/elastic ankles), and a belt indicating the student's rank. The Wu-Hsin Te system logo should appear on the student's left chest area. Additionally, a school-specific logo may be placed on the right chest area. Students of Wu-Hsin Te must wear this full uniform, with no other logos or patches besides these two (except by special permission from your instructor), for formal events such as tournaments or demos, as well as any time they visit a school of another style. During regular training with your primary instructor, these requirements may be more flexible, provided no one is wearing something that presents a safety issue, hinders training or instruction, or distracts others.

Sparring Gear
In order to spar, each student will need hand and foot pads, as well as a mouthguard. Although sparring is restricted to minimal contact, and targets are "above the belt", male students must wear a cup as an added precaution. Padded helmets, shin guards, or other protective gear are optional, for regular classes. Tournaments require the helmets, and some may have other guidelines as well.
