Iron-On Instructions

Warning:
It is very common to accidentally position the logo wrong when you try to iron it onto your jacket. The positioning guidelines are the most important part of these instructions. If you make a mistake, you must purchase a new jacket.

Preparation

  1. Wash your uniform jacket.

  2. Choose a surface to work on. You will need a waist-high, smooth, heat-resistant surface. Ideally a wooden table. But NOT an ironing board, glass, granite, concrete, plastic, or other heat-sensitive or heat-retaining surfaces.

  3. Place a large cotton pillowcase onto your chosen surface.

  4. Plug in your iron, set it to the cotton setting, and pre-heat for 5 minutes.

  5. Do NOT use steam in the iron.

  6. Iron the pillowcase and your jacket to remove wrinkles.

Positioning

  1. Place your ironed jacket on top of the flat pillowcase, on the wooden table. Carefully lay it out flat, with the front flaps folded according to the images shown here.

  2. The Wu-Hsin Te logo is a vinyl iron-on. Peel the parchment paper away from it and set that aside - you'll need it later. Place the logo sticky-side down on the jacket, according to the following instructions.

  3. In order for the Wu-Hsin Te logo to appear on your left chest area when you wear the jacket, you will need to place it on the RIGHT chest area as the jacket lays flat in front of you.

  4. Do NOT align the left edge of the logo with the trim of the jacket. This will cause your logo to appear tilted when you wear the jacket, because the trim falls diagonally across your chest.

  5. If you imagine a line across the jacket's chest, from one armpit to the other, the bottom of the Wu-Hsin Te logo should fall just along that line.

  6. The middle of the left edge of the Wu-Hsin Te logo should be approximately 1 inch away from the trim of the jacket.

  7. If you are also applying a school logo to the chest area on the other side, it will be an inkjet iron-on. Place it face down on the jacket according to the following instructions.

  8. The school logo's right edge should also be approximately 1 inch away from the trim on this opposite side of the chest.

  9. Align the middle of the school logo with the middle of the Wu-Hsin Te logo, so one doesn't appear too much lower or higher than the other.

Ironing

  1. Once your iron-ons are positioned, place the parchment paper over the Wu-Hsin Te logo.

  2. Apply firm pressure to the Wu-Hsin Te logo with the preheated iron. Move slowly from left to right and then top to bottom. Be sure to iron over the edges.

  3. Iron for 30-45 seconds, then let it cool for a moment.

  4. Remove the parchment paper and CAREFULLY peel the clear plastic off the jacket. If parts of the black vinyl logo peel away from the jacket, immediately press it back down and re-iron it. It's very important not to lose any of the little dots that make up these Chinese characters, or it could alter the meaning of the words.

  5. Iron the inkjet school logo for 30-45 seconds and let it cool for a moment.

  6. Peel the school logo's paper backing away from the jacket. If the image starts to lift off the fabric, press it back down and re-iron the affected areas.

Care

The following care instructions are provided with the iron-on sheets we use for the inkjet school logos. Most of these are probably not necessary, at least after the first wash or two... we wash our jackets normally with other clothes and it's fine.

  1. Wait 24 hours before washing the jacket.

  2. Wash inside-out.

  3. Set machine to cold.

  4. Use color-safe detergent.

  5. Wash separately from other clothes.

  6. Do not use bleach.

  7. Remove promptly; colors may bleed if left wet too long.

  8. Tumble dry on lowest heat setting.

  9. Do not iron directly on the transferred image one it has been applied.

  10. The transferred image is not intended to withstand stretching other than normal wear and tear.
